Infosys Public Services 'Goes Red for Women'
Infosys Public Services (IPS) supported the American Heart Association (AHA) ‘Go Red for Women’ campaign, by contributing US$ 10,000 to the 2012 Go Red for Women Luncheon in Columbus, Ohio. IPS’ contribution and participation supports the association’s campaign to increase awareness of heart disease among women and inspire them to take charge of their heart health.
The 2012 Columbus Go Red for Women Luncheon brought together over 1,000 attendees – including health and fitness experts, medical professionals, and women. The event aimed to increase awareness of the risk posed by heart diseases through panel discussions, educational breakout sessions and health screenings, while also encouraging the use of the AHA’s tools to lead heart-healthy lives.
The AHA is the nation’s oldest and largest voluntary organization dedicated to fighting heart disease and stroke. Go Red for Women is the AHA’s national campaign to increase awareness of heart disease — the leading cause of death among women — and to inspire women to make it their mission to fight this disease. The campaign’s fundraising efforts support the educational programs that the AHA provides, and the life-saving research it funds to reduce the effects of heart disease in women.
