Session description

Blockchain is becoming increasingly popular as a secure and transparent way to conduct transactions. Increasing cases of cyber-attacks, fraud, and abuse are also catalyzing its adoption. Agencies that adopt Blockchain will not only be able to improve collaboration but also digitize various operations. Some of the scenarios where government agencies can use Blockchain include maintenance of transparent, authoritative ledger for official records, citizens’ rights, entitlements, agreements etc., securing financial transactions, managing health and social services benefits.

At the moment, Blockchain is more popular in the commercial sector. However, Gartner estimates that by 2021, at least 5% of government entities will adopt Blockchain. Given the nascent state of technology and the rapid developments happening in this space, agencies need to carefully approach Blockchain adoption and identify potential use-cases that could be supported by the technology. Government also have to look at defining standards that would govern Blockchain technologies and adoption.

Join the session for insights on how agencies can do the above and effectively adopt Blockchain for better service delivery.
