A major challenge in health and human services modernization is to balance the modernization initiative with management of existing systems. Modernization happens in phases; i.e., only a few programs move over from the legacy system to the new system in each phase. With recent guidance from the CMS on modular development and procurement, multi-pronged, phased implementations and operations will soon become the norm. How can agencies manage these multiple systems - some legacy, some new in production, and some in implementation? What are the implications of agile development for multiple systems in transition, both in procurement and development? What are the applications of the Gartner’s BiModal IT to this situation? Join the roundtable for practical insights from industry and government experts.

Shekhar has over 13 years of experience in the IT industry leading large business and IT transformation and re-engineering programs. Shekhar has assisted Fortune 500 organizations with their strategic, organizational and operational initiatives and led innovative solution development projects for the healthcare and social services sectors. His expertise is in designing, implementing and managing large web applications in healthcare and social services domain.

Shekhar played a key role in the implementation of the District of Columbia Healthcare Exchange and is part of the team responsible for modernization of the District’s Integrated Eligibility System for Food and Cash programs. As the leader of the functional team, Shekhar works directly with the key subject matter experts, planning, estimating and building the solution to deliver this complex project.
