Infosys Public Services Supports Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
Infosys Public Services (IPS) supported the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), by contributing US$ 10,000 as a Gold Sponsor at the Leukemia Ball 2012 in Washington D.C. on March 31, 2012. IPS’ contribution supports LLS in accelerating the cutting-edge research and innovative treatments that make total cure a possibility for more than one million Americans living with blood cancer.
Leukemia Ball — the largest non-political black-tie event in the Washington D.C. area — is the LLS's annual event that aims to raise funds for the fight against leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin disease, and myeloma. This year’s Leukemia Ball was attended by over 2,000 people, including senior government and business leaders, blood cancer survivors, and advocates.
The LLS is the world's largest voluntary health organization, dedicated to funding blood cancer research, education and patient services, and supporting researchers. Since 1988, the LLS' annual event has raised more than US$ 45 million, and this year's event – the 25th anniversary Leukemia Ball – raised US$ 3 million.
